Last week, I mentioned that I went to see Ina Garten in conversation with Ann Patchett in Nashville. It was an evening filled with wisdom and laughter and emotions. Nearly 2,400 of us gathered into a gymnasium to see this cultural icon. She came across as warm and open as I expected, sharing her advice, insights, and tips. There was no shortage of memorable moments, but I’m sharing a couple of things she said that really stood out (and that I found helpful with my writing and writing process)—and a few tidbits from the Q&A.
