Hi!

I’m Lauren Kung Jessen, a writer and unapologetic romantic. I’m the author of Lunar Love, Red String Theory, and the forthcoming Yin Yang Love Song.

It’s nice to meet you. A few things about me:

  1. I love food. I went to culinary school, worked at Eleven Madison Park, and run a food and film blog, A Dash of Cinema. I’m always dreaming up what to cook or bake.

  2. I’m the Year of the Horse. If you’re curious what Chinese zodiac sign you are, you can use this guide to find out.

  3. I live in Nashville. It’s my first time living somewhere without water on either side of me.

  4. I’m a big art fan, especially paintings (particularly Renaissance and Impressionism) and installations. For Red String Theory, I got to live vicariously through my main character and create giant art installations of my own.

  5. I have to be in the right mood to listen to music when I write. Some scenes lend itself to particular songs and can really help get me in the right headspace. When writing Lunar Love, I listened to these songs.

  6. I love the rain. I attribute this to growing up in Seattle. I don’t use umbrellas if I don’t have to.
