What a lovely post and I enjoyed learning about peonies. Katniss is my favorite flower, partially because of the Hunger Games series but also because Katniss’ dad tells her “as long as you can find yourself, you’ll never starve.” The roots of the plant are edible. The plant is also known as the arrowhead. I love the connection. I got it tattooed on my ankle along with lavender (one of my other favorite flowers) and chrysanthemum (the November birth flower, in honor of my Grandpa Jack, who passed in October 2022).
